Opportunities for Adults

Wilkesboro Baptist Church focuses on providing a variety of experiences for a wide range of adults. From Sunday School classes that range from College Age to Senior Citizens to special Men's and Women's Fellowships and Ministries WBC has something for all adults no matter what your age or interest. All of our programs are designed to bring you closer to Christ and to give you an opportunity to help others enjoy a relationship with God.

Sunday School Opportunities at Wilkesboro Baptist

With three choices of Worship each Sunday Morning, we offer an equally exciting hour of Bible Study at 9:45 a.m. each Sunday Morning. We are convinced that Sunday Morning Bible Study is a strategic part of spiritual growth for everyone. In the context of a caring community, these small group Bible studies provide a place where you can discover purpose for your life. Listed below are the opportunities found in the Wilkesboro Baptist fellowship.

Adults

Through Bible study, social gatherings, and mission projects, we build friendships that will add meaning to your life. Each of these classes vary in teaching styles and you can surely find a class that includes a style that meets your spiritual needs and a group of fellow Christians with similar interests.


COLLEGE – The College students are encouraged through strong interaction and real life relevant topics for discussion. The classroom is located in room 211 on the second floor of the Education Building.

SINGLE ADULTS – Come be a part of something the makes a difference. Bible Study provides an opportunity for spiritual growth and fellowship. This class is located in room 231 upstairs behind the Sanctuary.

ADULT – The Adult classes are made up of couples and singles grouped by ages, Adult 1 being the youngest and Adult 6 being the eldest.

The following class studies literature that offers relevant Bible study and helps adults apply biblical principles to life by developing godly values and encouraging Christ like living.



Adult 3 – This class is located in room 253 above the preschool area.

(Parents of school age children and teenagers.)

The following classes study literature that offers a book of the bible per month or quarter.

Adult 5 – This class is located in room 113, main floor of educational building.

(Middle aged adults)

Adult 6 – This class is located in room 112, main floor of educational building.

(Older adults)

Gleaners – This class is located in room 111, main floor of educational building and includes ladies who are senior adults.

Builders - This class is located in room 255 above the preschool area with a variety of adult ages.

Triplett – This class is a lecture Bible Study format that is broadcasted on the radio. It includes all ages and is located in the fellowship hall.

The following classes study literature which provides spiritual insight and daily personal study including famous authors like Beth Moore, John MacArthur, Tony Evans and Gary Chapman who guide these adults through Bible-based, life-applicable lessons from God’s word..



Adult 1 - This class is located in room G26 below the sanctuary.

(Young adult singles and couples.)

Adult 2 – This class in located in room 254 above the preschool area.

(Parents of preschool and school age children.)

Adult 4 – This class is located in room 114, main floor of educational building.

(Parents of teenagers and college students.)

Ladies – This class is located in room 252 above the preschool area and includes ladies of all ages.

The following class focuses on New Christians or those wishing to renew a relationship with Christ.

Ephphatha – This class is located in room 233 behind the balcony.

Senior Adult Ministries at Wilkesboro Baptist

PrimeTimers – This group is open to anyone regardless of age. It provides fellowship and spiritual growth and informative topics through programs. This group meets on the 4th Tuesday (except July) at 12:15 p.m. for a meal and a program. The cost is $3.00 per person. Sign-up is required. Also this group takes day trips as well as weekly trips to conferences and other places of interest.



Solos - This group is open to men and women in our community who are single, single again or widowed. A musical or informative program is provided each month. This group meets the 1st Tuesday each month at 5:30 p.m. (except July). The meat and drinks are provided and attendees bring a covered dish.

Leave WBC at 10:00 a.m. – Return around 4:00 p.m.
In case of rain we will meet at WBC. Bring your games to play.

Sunday, June 27th or July 4th – Trip to Calvary Baptist in Winston

Other Trips: Trip to The Billy Graham Training Center at the Cove, Chinqua Penn and Catawba Queen

Adult Mission Groups at Wilkesboro Baptist

Baptist Men – This group meets the first Sunday of each month at 7:00 a.m. for breakfast and a missions program. Also this group plans mission projects in our community, state and country.

Women on Mission Groups – The following groups meet to pray for missions, be challenged by a missions program and participate in various mission projects.

Multi Focus Group – Meets at 9:30 a.m. on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at WBC.

Women on Mission – Meets at 7:00 p.m. on the 2nd Monday of each month in differnent homes.



Additional Weekly Bible Study Opportunities

Ladies Bible Study – One group meets on Thursday mornings at 9:30 a.m. and the other groups meets on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 and 6:45 p.m. These groups study topical focused Bible studies, which require members to study at home each week. Some of the studies use videos also. These studies provide an opportunity for interaction and learning from the Bible..

Men’s Bible Study – This group meets on Thursdays at 12:00 noon. They study a book of the Bible, which requires members to study during the week to prepare for the weekly discussion..
