Opportunities for Children

Wilkesboro Baptist Church is a family-loving, service-oriented fellowship. Our ministry to children includes opportunities to encourage their growth physically, emotionally and mentally as well as spiritually. The following list just touches on a few of the ways that we seek to meet these needs.

WILKESBORO BAPTIST CHURCH’S CHILDREN’S MINISTRY MISSION STATEMENT

To encourage family involvement. It is the parent’s responsibility to teach and build a spiritual foundation at home through the help of the church educational ministries and opportunities.

Family Night Schedule
4:15 p.m. – Children’s Chimes and Bells (Grades 1-6)
5:00 p.m. – Family Night Meal
6:00 p.m. – Preschool (Ages 4&5) and Children’s (Grades 1-6) Choirs
6:45 p.m. – Mission Friends (Ages 3-5), GA’s (Grades 1-6), and RA’s (Grs. 1-6)

Wednesday, November 23rd – NO Family Night including choir and missions

Sunday, November 27th – Hanging of the Green Service
6:00 p.m. – WBC Sanctuary

Saturday, December 3rd – WBC Children’s CCCCC Day
Carols, Crafts, Cookies, Cocoa & Candy followed by watching the Wilkesboro Christmas Parade Meet at WBC at 12:30 p.m. – Pick up after the parade

Sunday, December 4th – Preschool and Children’s Choirs & Cookie Fellowship
6:00 p.m. – WBC Sanctuary
Preschool and Children need to meet in their regular choir room at 5:30 p.m.

Friday, December 9th – Trip to see “The Nutcracker” At Farthing Auditorium
Leave WBC at 5:00 p.m. – Return around 11:00 p.m.
Cost: $7.00 for children and $10.00 for adults plus supper money

5:00 p.m. – Family Night Meal in Fellowship Hall

6:00 p.m. or shortly after – Family Night Christmas Program in the Sanctuary

Saturday, December 24th – Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion at 7:00 p.m.

Sunday, December 25th – Christmas Day Service

Don’t Forget about Bible Bookmarks and Activity Bags

Let me remind you about the Bible Bookmarks to help you as parents to encourage children to read the Bible each day. Please encourage your children to pick them up from the Kids Korner window each week if they do not receive them in Children’s Time. Also remember you can go to www.BibleBookmarks.com and register to receive the daily readings on Facebook in case you lose the bookmark. Also we have the activity bags in worship that your child can pick up and use during worship. Please use this as a resource to help your child in worship.




Sunday School Opportunities at Wilkesboro Baptist - Children

The Children’s Sunday School is Bible-based, Christ-focused and activity oriented. This is a precious time when children are introduced to the teachings of Jesus and Wilkesboro Baptist Church takes this role seriously. Classes are kept small and time is spent to answer the tough questions these children have about God’s Word.

1st Grade – Located on the ground floor of the Educational Building, room G11.

2nd Grade – Located on the ground floor of the Educational Building, room G14.

3rd Grade – Located on the ground floor below the Fellowship Hall, room G41.

4th Grade – Located on the ground floor below the Fellowship Hall, room G42.

5th Grade – Located on the ground floor below the Fellowship Hall, room G43.

6th Grade – This Preteen Bible study is especially designed with this one age group in mind. This class is located on the ground floor below the Fellowship Hall, room G44.

Sunday School Opportunities at Wilkesboro Baptist - Preschool

The goal of the Preschool Sunday School is to provide a safe place for preschoolers to learn that God made them; God loves them; and He has a very special plan for their lives. This age is a time for developing good habits and learning that Church is God’s house and a wonderful and safe place for each of them.

Bed Babies – Located on the main level behind the sanctuary, room 152.

Toddlers – Located on the main level behind the sanctuary, room 154.

2 year olds – Located on the main level behind the sanctuary, room 155.

3 year olds – Located on the main level behind the sanctuary, room 156.

4 year olds – Located on the ground floor of the Educational Building, room G12.

Kinders (5 year olds) – Located on the ground floor of the Educational Building, room G13.



Discipleship Opportunities

Preschool Discipleship Training/Extended Session – This class is open to all children bith - 4 year olds on Sunday evenings at 6:00 p.m. This training helps preschoolers learn more about the Bible.

Bible Drill – This class is open to Grades K-6 on Sunday evenings at 6:00 p.m. This training helps children learn more about the Bible through scripture memory, key passages and locating books of the Bible.
