Our Team

Dr. Chris Hefner grew up in a pastor's home and has been a follower of Jesus since he was eighteen. He and his wife, Jean were married in 2003. They have two sons, Will and Nathan.

Chris came to WBC in 2015. He is an avid reader and runner. He follows most sports and enjoys watching UNC athletics. As a pastor, Chris equally loves to study and preach as well as meet unbelievers or church members for gospel and theology conversations over coffee. 

He also serves as a Professor of Western Civilization at Fruitland Baptist Bible College, Hendersonville, NC. He earned his Ph.D. in Evangelism and Church Growth from the Billy Graham School Missions and Church Ministry at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
